Build a Healthy, Resilient Community
We do this by providing educational resources and training to individuals and organizations to support trauma-informed care initiatives across the human services system.
About Us
Triumph Over Trauma: Northern Shenandoah Valley Resiliency Initiative works to build a healthy, resilient community aimed at reducing the effect of trauma on children, youth, adults, and families.
We do this by providing educational resources and training to individuals and organizations to support trauma-informed care initiatives across the human services system.
We also provide education and resources to people who have experienced trauma to foster a community where all people feel safe, connected, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.
We are part of the Trauma Informed Community Networks in Virginia.

A Whole-Community Approach
We consider environmental, cultural, racial, gender, historical, and societal factors in order to serve all community members with compassion, humility, and respect.
Social Justice & Equity
We celebrate differences, acknowledge racism and other forms of systemic and historical oppression, and operate through an equity lens.
Centering Historically Marginalized Voices
We believe that centering and uplifting the voices of those who have historically been marginalized is of utmost importance as we work to co-create a network that centers the needs of those impacted by trauma.
A Trauma-informed Lens
We cultivate emotional, psychological, and physical safety for all community members through education, advocacy, and support.
Inclusive Membership
We foster diversity and inclusion as we co-create a network that is inviting and safe for everyone and where everyone’s voice can be heard.
Cross-Sector Collaboration
We honor partnerships and collaborations with community members and organizations across all systems and sectors.
